WTA U14 Red 2 - 3 Parkside Athletic

The Under 14 Red side finished pointless this week despite a brace from Man of the Match Matthew.

The Reds’ went a goal down halfway through the first-half following a lob over the Acorns goalkeeper which hit the bar. Parkside’s attackers were first to react and they had the simple task slotting the ball into the empty net.

Following coming on as a substitute, Matthew scored his first goal of the game five minutes before the end of the half, as his neat toe-poke was lifted over the goalkeeper and into the net.

It was not until twenty minutes from the final whistle that Matthew scored his and the Reds’ second of the game as he ran onto a ball over the top from Tommy and slotted home despite the goalkeeper’s efforts.

Parkside drew level shortly after the Red’s taking the lead after a quick throw-in. The Parkside winger delivered the ball into a dangerous area for the attacker to finish.

With seemingly the last kick of the game, Parkside claimed all three points following a sublime run from their attacker which began in his own half and he finished from outside the penalty area.

The Reds’ will be looking to get back to winning ways on Sunday against Hampton who are currently fourth in the league.
