Wisbech Town Acorns Football Club (WTA) was formed in 1993 by Alan Knight (who sadly passed away in 2004) Funding was secured from the Crime Prevention Trust with the idea that it would give local children something to become involved in, so they could play football in a safe and friendly environment. Originally the club started training and playing their matches at Wisbech Town Park until 2002, then it relocated to its present home at Barton Road Playing Field.

WTA takes players from the age of 6 years old through to 16 and has a good number of players from beginners right through to a few that have been selected, due to their exceptional ability, to train with UEFA 'B' Coaches at academy level.
